The European Union has announced a grant program worth 2 million Euros aimed at increasing trade for SMEs across the Green Line!


The EU Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community, implemented by GIZ International Services, has launched the eunite:SME project aims boost trade across the Green Line by offering grants of up to €60,000 to businesses already engaged in or showing potential for Green Line trade. The €2 million grant program is designed to strengthen Cypriot Turkish businesses and facilitate their integration into the broader EU market. Applications are now open, with a deadline for project concept note set for August 26, 2024, at 12:00 Cyprus time.


The grant program primarily targets Turkish Cypriot manufacturers, producers, and traders. It aims to promote trade across the Green Line by enhancing business processes and innovative approaches, as well as aligning with EU standards. The grants, ranging from €20,000 to €60,000, can be used for investments in new machinery with the with the limitation of not exceeding 50% of the total budget, standardization services, digital improvements, green initiatives, marketing support, and staff training for trade across the Green Line.

Informational sessions will be held throughout August 2024, to support potential applicants and provide detailed guidance on the grant program. The first session is scheduled for August 8, 2024, from 18:00 to 20:00 at the eunite:SME office located at Kütüphane Sok. No: 20-22, Surlariçi, Nicosia, also known as 'The Blue Door Office'.
